How long have you
been giving financial advice?
Rudi has been providing advice to clients
about financial matters for over 30 years.
Rick has been working within the financial
planning industry for the last 7 years and has been able to advise on
client financial matters for 4 years.
Mat, who assists both Rudi and Rick in all
client matters has been a part of Horvat Financial Advisors from the
beginning and is in the process completing his financial planning
studies.
What kind of clients do you
mostly see?
We see a broad range of clients ranging
from young couples who wish to discuss their wealth accumulation and
cash flow, to corporate executives who require specific advice on how
best to structure their financial position, to people approaching
retirement who want to maximise their position.
What are your
clients mostly trying to achieve?
A greater understanding of their financial
position and how they might best achieve a greater financial outcome.
Do you take a special
interest in any particular types of financial products?
Our advice is strategy focussed. Once we
have determined the appropriate advice for our clients, we then focus on
what financial products will need to be used to ensure the client
objectives are met. These products broadly relate to wealth
accumulation, superannuation, insurance, retirement and estate planning.
Are there any financial
products you don’t advise on?
Our license allows us to provide advice on
most financial products. If you are seeking advice in relation to a
product that we are not able to provide comment on, we will inform you
of this restriction.
How do you go about
understanding a new client?
We take the time to listen to the client
and then ask a lot of questions that assist us in understanding the
clients’ full financial circumstances and objectives.
How do you deal with a
client who may have conflicting financial objectives?
We analyse the clients’ objectives and
further understand the thought process behind their decision. We then
provide options to the client that uses facts and figures so the client
can make an informed decision.
What qualifications do
you have?
Rudi is a Certified Financial Planner
through the Financial Planning Association, a Fellow of the National
Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of
Australia.
Rick is also a Certified Financial Planner
through the Financial Planning Association.
How much is this advice
likely to cost?
We charge on a strict fee for service
model. We do not receive any form of commission or ‘kick backs’ from any
product. Quite simply, we provide advice to clients based on their needs
and their objectives because the client pays us, not the product. We
therefore have no conflicts of interest when providing advice to
clients.
A Statement of Advice Fee and Full
Implementation will typically cost $3,850 depending on the complexity of
the work required.
Ongoing Advice Fee including 2 annual
reviews will typically cost $3,300 per year, again depending on the
level of service you require throughout the year.
Just to reiterate, our fee is not based on
how much money you have to invest. It is solely based on the amount of
work we need to complete for you to ensure you are able to reach
financial independence.
Any commission that we may be entitled to
receive (as for instance from insurance recommendations) will be used to
offset our advice fees.
How do you keep up to
date with everything that’s happening?
We attend regular courses and seminars run
by industry bodies. We are also required by our license to complete a
minimum of 40 hours a year of professional training, which can either be
completed in our office or again, at external courses or seminars.
